Roles and Responsibilities
Participate in drafting and setting the master plan for the axes and pillars of the Hajj and Umrah sector and prioritize the programs and initiatives proposed to be implemented in the region and the holy sites.
Coordinate with concerned ministries and authorities regarding projects required to develop infrastructure and facilities related to Hajj and Umrah services in the region, request support for their approval, follow up on implementation, and request necessary reports on progress rates.
Discuss and review plans and programs prepared by government agencies for Hajj and Umrah seasons in the region and follow up on their implementation, including plans for emergency preparedness.
Form committees and working groups from concerned government agencies to prepare studies and reports related to Hajj and Umrah affairs in the region.
Unify and coordinate the work system among government agencies in the region to contribute to applying and achieving the principles, concepts, and mechanisms of integrated management and partnership in Hajj and Umrah.
Monitor the application and compliance with laws, regulations, and procedures related to Hajj and Umrah, and propose amendments and developments to achieve the optimal situation and enhance the Hajj and Umrah operations system.
Follow up generally on the performance of all working agencies in the region during Hajj and Umrah seasons and address any obstacles or remarks to provide necessary services to pilgrims, set plans and measures to prevent recurrence according to a specific timetable.
Request any information, reports, or data from ministries and government agencies concerned with Hajj and Umrah affairs needed by the Central Hajj Committee to enable government sectors to improve services provided to pilgrims in the region.
Guide the preparation of studies and research that contribute to activating and developing Hajj and Umrah economies and achieving public benefits, and propose appropriate initiatives for implementation through integrated developmental participation between government and private sectors.
Supervise the completion of all necessary arrangements and preparations by concerned agencies to meet the requirements of Hajj and Umrah seasons ensuring smooth and proper performance.
Oversee the implementation of national awareness plans and programs prepared for various categories of pilgrims inside and outside the Kingdom on laws, regulations, and their rights and duties to perform rituals easily and smoothly.
Conduct field inspection tours in the holy sites and facilities receiving and serving pilgrims in the region: including air, sea, and land ports / Meeqats / reception centers / transportation.
Submit proposed topics for study and discussion in the meetings of the Supreme Hajj Committee and the Supreme Umrah Committee.
Study issues referred to the committee related to Hajj and Umrah affairs.
Review reports submitted by executive committees, make necessary decisions, and prepare recommendations for submission to the Supreme Hajj Committee.
